My favorite genre is realistic fiction, but historical fiction is a close second. I love to "lose myself" in a book- to be in a different place. I've been on whaling ships in the 18th century; to the tops of deadly mountains; on windswept prairies; in deserts, small towns, ancient cities and modern ones, too. I've been so many places! I like authors who describe their settings and characters well, so I can get a good visualization in my mind as I'm reading. I like learning about how people lived in different times and how they live now. I like being entertained with a good story and this is what realistic and historical fiction give me.
